Mary Helmbrecht is a National Certified Counselor and a Licensed Professional Counselor & Mental Health Service Provider. Mary’s background is in clinical mental health counseling with a focus in child, adolescent, and family therapy. She also has extensive experience working with those suffering from addictions, youth and families in crisis, youth and families touched by trauma, and youth and families in the foster/adoptive process.
Mary’s treatment approach is client-centered and solution-focused. She utilizes the client-therapist relationship to create a warm and trusting space where clients can discuss life’s issues. Mary’s goal is to help clients identify problem areas, provide practical and useful coping strategies to address these areas, and create an aftercare plan to aid clients in making lasting changes in their lives. Mary has had training in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), Schema Therapy, and Trauma Systems Therapy (TST).
