Katie is a Master’s level Intern. She is in the process of finishing her Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with Educational Specialist from James Madison University. Her thesis was on technoference in the family unit. Katie has experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families.

Treatment Approach

Katie sees her work with clients as a privilege and an honor. In order to meet the client’s needs and have the most effective treatment with her clients, Katie uses a person-centered approach in conjunction with techniques from other theoretical approaches. The techniques she may use will come from her other areas of training which include but are not limited to Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Child Centered Play Therapy, Solution Focused, and Structural Family Therapy.
