Alex is a counseling intern from the University of Tennessee. She is pursuing her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health and School Counseling. Alex enjoys working with children and adolescents, and has worked with a wide range of clients. Alex has experiential knowledge in life transitions, crisis, and trauma from working at a crisis center, on the Contact Care Line, and at elementary and middle schools.
Alex aims to provide Narrative counseling and evidence based practices in her work. Narrative therapy focuses on allowing clients to identify themes and meaning making within their life stories. Alex likes to incorporate techniques from other theories such as Solution Focused therapy, Gestalt therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral therapy when needed. She has training in Child-Centered Play therapy, Telehealth therapy, and is currently pursuing a certificate in Grief, Loss and Trauma. Alex hopes clients will feel empowered to redefine their narratives and make meaning of their experiences throughout the counseling journey.
